Just got back from seeing it. It was a pretty good movie.

I remember before the movie came out there were people complaining about how Heath Ledger made the Joker too serious. I think he did a better job than Nicholson did. There was humor in there... and there was seriousness. He gave the Joker reason. I enjoyed the performance. Oh well, that won't ever happen again.

Heath Ledger truly was amazing as the Joker. I love how did all the tongue movements when he spoke. The magic trick was funny, i couldn't help but break out into laughter during that scene.

That was good. I was waiting for some smart ass line when that happened but the events that took place were funnier then what any one liner could deliver. The way he was walking when he left was amusing aswell.

You would. Just kidding.

I liked what I saw. I was really tired and fell asleep some where in the middle, but I didn't miss too much(I hope).

After seeing it and thinking about it... another brief moment strikes me as genius. When The Joker is in the cop car with his head out the window and it's swerving... for some reason it's so perfect. After everything that happens so far in the movie, and what just happened, it's a moment that defines who he is as a person so perfectly.

Also after thinking, I've realized that to me, the movie was okay. Not great. Nothing wonderful. The only thing that does stand out and make it great to me is The Joker. To be honest, I don't really even like the Batman character. But damn... Ledger was amazing.

This movie really needs to be seen at an IMAX theater, considering the high levels of clarity present on the scenes shot with an IMAX camera. Plus, these scenes are about three or more times as tall as the 35mm scenes, so I can't even imagine what they would look like in a regular theater since they'd have to be cropped so heavily--either that or vertically squished.

I wish 70mm film would become the norm.

I saw it at a normal theater. I don't really remember any height discrepency. I guess they did just cut some out.

It was really weird going from the 2.35:1 ratio 35mm scenes, then going to the 1.43:1 ratio of the 65mm IMAX shots. Really cool, though. If you've got $15 to spare and an IMAX theater that's no more than an hour's drive away, I highly recommend it. But be sure to sit far enough back to where it's not a strain to constantly be shifting your head and eyes to see everything. My neck was sore by the end of the film. I intend on going to the IMAX for this film again (only film I care to since the blown-up 35mm stuff is to me no more impressive than a regular theater), and I'll for sure have to sit pretty far towards the back.

I went to a website to look for IMAX locations and the closest was 2 hours or more.

Probably not worth it then, unless you can conjure up enough interested people who can pitch in gas money. But yeah, at that distance and $14.50 a ticket, it's certainly pricey.

i'm resounding everyone else's thoughts, i know, i just wanted to put my two cents in.

the dark knight was great. i especially liked the part on the ferry with the convicts.... that was brilliant. there was so much in it that i didn't like (for instance the chick dying) but Heath Ledger's acting made it worthwhile. sure, if they make another movie they can take another guy and put makeup on him and make him look like this joker, but really, the acting won't be the same. it really is such a shame.

justin and i were talking about it, and he thinks that the joker's personality slipped into ledger's and he just couldn't handle it. does anyone know the true story behind heath ledger's death?

He mixed medicine. He OD'd. A lot of people say it's the doctor's fault for not thinking about what he was prescribing. Had nothing to do with the movie.

I think they were complaining it was Heath Ledger, the guy from a knights tale and gay movies.

Anyway I saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Does anyone agree with me about the scene with The Joker in the cop car?
