Not necessarily your favorites... but which ones changed your life/way you listen to music. Just things that really made a difference when you heard them.

White Zombie Astro Creep 2000 - I've had this one on cassette since around the time it was released. I first heard them because of my brother. I really loved that tape. When I was young, I basically just listened to whatever my brother listened to. He didn't like them so this was the first band I could call my own. After I got this, I started listening to a lot of rap. One year I pulled it back out and listened to it. This was the album that got me into metal.

Korn Follow The Leader - Korn was a band I didn't even like at first. The first song I heard was "Got The Life". After hearing it a few times I started to like them. Then I got this for my birthday the year it came out. After a couple of listens I thought it was okay. Then one day everything clicked and I fell in love with Korn. Because of this album, I became obsessed with music and wanted to make music myself.

Slipknot - Vol.3 The Subliminal Verses: The first heavy band i ever listened to and from that day on i've fallen in love with the world of metal

Job For A Cowboy - Genesis: They started my love of death metal off.

There's heaps of cds that have influenced my life but those two are the ones that have really made a big impact.

Static-X - Wisconsin Death Trip kind of got me into metal for the long run so I always have a soft spot in my heart for them.

That would have been an epic album.

Sonic Mayhem - Quake 3 Arena: Noise
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine, Broken, The Downward Spiral
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Depeche Mode - Violator
Skinny Puppy - Too Dark Park
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Cave In - Antenna

are all albums that changed my perceptions of music.

Opeth's Blackwater Park also changed my perception on music. I'd always hated Prog up to the moment "The Leper Affinity" came blasting through my speakers

Blackwater Park is the reason I wrote Opeth off for about 6 years.

I don't even listen to them anymore, but I can't deny how the album changed my perception of death metal. Now it's my favorite metal sub-genre and I LOVE the vocals.

My problem is that I was already listening to brutal death metal and grindcore... So I heard them and it was like a pussified version of what I was already listening to. Back then I was just looking for the heaviest and the most aggressive.

Forgot to add that the Murderdolls : Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls also changed my life in musical terms. From the day i heard it i wanted to make music and i got into playing bass guitar from there. Nowadays i'm learning guitar, strengthening my vocals and playing around with other instruments.

I could probably add

Slipknot Slipknot - Didn't really change the way I thought... but it started what I'm thinking is a life long love affair. From the minute I heard them, I wanted to get their cd. At first... "Frail Limb Nursery" scared the crap out of me and I rarely went past that track. Note that this is because the day I got it... I feel asleep listening to it and woke up that song in the dark. Since I got Slipknot's cd, I've loved them. There was a period in 2004 when I didn't like Vol. 3... but other than that they've been one of my favorites. Whenever I hear their music I become obsessed with them. There is just something about them...
