I like how the one comment the guy is annoyed about the Bauhaus comparison, even though this sounds like Bauhaus. Except Bauhaus was way better.

"This is far too original to be compared to Bauhaus" lol. This literally sounds like a Bauhaus/Joy Division mashup tribute or something.

I dig it. I'd prefer the whole album to be like this, or at least this tempo. I do like their ambient tracks on deathconsciousness but I never loved that album as a cohesive whole, start-to-finish record. Thinking of it as a complete album it was a bit too all over the place for me (it was basically a compilation of what they had been dicking around on for five years, after all). I'm thinking and hoping this one will be a bit more focused. The shorter play time of 35 minutes is probably a pretty good sign that it will be apart from perhaps an intro/outro.

That's why I never understood the hype about this band. I mean, I dig them a lot and I actually own all of their shit, but they're just a post-punk worship project. They aren't original at all.

Not as good as the material on Deathconsciousness. It's still decent

I'm always very on the fence about stuff like this. On the one hand, it's kinda cool and similar to music I dig; but on the other, post-punk is '70s and '80s music, and these kinds of trapped-in-the-past throwbacks are kind of shitty for that reason. What originally came out of creativity and recording limitations is now just homage.

Give me the real McCoy. (Was actually just listening to Unknown Pleasures. Damn amazing album.)
