This thread inspired me to make a list of every single game that I like. I need to narrow that list down to 100 and organize it in some way.

Fuck, this is hard. I'm at 130 games right now, and I'm already struggling to see what I want to remove. Even if I get the list down to 100, I'll still need to figure out what order to put everything in.

I feel like I'd have a hard time listing 100 games, but I'll give this some thought.

PostSubject: Re: 100 favorite games of all time   Tue Aug 13, 2013 8:37 pm

I finally made my list! I made this in reverse order, though I also have it in... non-reverse order in a text document, if anyone cares to see it like that. It was kind of annoying to reverse every single title manually after making the list, but I felt like putting forth the time and effort into it Tongue

For the listed platform, I've put the platform that I happened to play the game on, and/or the platform I associate the game with personally. Then in brackets I put the original platform the game is for, if applicable. I also haven't played a ton of Sega-system games, though I hope to rectify that. I also plan on further checking out non-Nintendo games in general; I feel like I've got a good number of non-Nintendo stuff on here, though Nintendo-platform/developed games certainly are prominent in this list Tongue And like with every other list I make, it's possible I might look back on this and think that there's something that should be changed around.

So without further ado, here's my list Happy

I haven't played Wii Fit in a few years (which reminds me that I need to clean the battery acid out of my balance board Tongue ), but I played it pretty intensely for about half a year, and then more sporadically after that. I think it's a really well-made, fun game, and I lost about 20 pounds while I was playing it Happy

Thank you ^_^

When I have the time I will attempt to compile a list.

Hey Ab, did you ever beat the remake of Resident Evil? I remember playing it back when I had a Gamecube and it was amazing. I wish they remade 2 as well.

I've never really been a Metroid fan. Super Metroid is okay, but I didn't enjoy the NES Metroid or Metroid Prime when I tried them years ago.

Uv coarz, dawg. Beat it several times. I love the atmosphere of that game. Woulda been nice to see 2 done in a similar fashion. I keep starting up 2 on the GameCube but only get so far before I quit and forget about it for several more years. It's supposed to be like the best in the series supposedly, but I never got too into it. Probably because of the difficulty. Zombies are fecking every which way AND THEY COME THROUGH DOORS TOO, so there's never a safe spot and it just kinda jangles my nerves a bit, lol.

I think Resident Evil 2 is one of the easiest games in the "classic" RE series. It's definitely easier than REmake, though the lack of a quick turn might make movement a little tougher to get the hang of than every later game in the series.

I mainly missed this thread, but I must give credit to jthefrank for listing both Myth games as 1 and 2. I used to have so much fun with those games, and they're relatively unheard of. Our we the only ones here that have played them?

I never played the Myth games, but I had a friend in middle school and high school that loved them. His email and all game accounts had Myth in them.

Yeah, I wish I could play both Myth games again somehow. It's also funny when you find out that they're both Bungie games. They were the two games they made before they started the Halo series, which is surprising considering how different the games are.

Oddly, the first developmental version of Halo was pretty much a sci-fi version of Myth. If I remember correctly, at least the version of Myth II that I had had a demo video of the early gameplay for that original version of Halo.

I've probably played more Recon (Myth 2 WW2 mod) alone then any other game on this list. And that was just a single multiplayer map. I forced myself to uninstall it so I'd quit playing... Ten years after its creation. Sadly the Myth servers were shut down several years ago Sad

And funnily enough I never really cared for the Halos.  Glad to see Bungie get so much praise though since they were back-owed it...

Yeah, the Halos weren't necessarily bad games, but definitely nothing amazing either. I was never the biggest first person shooter fan though, but I was never the biggest real time strategy fan either and still loved the Myth games. It wasn't a standard rts though.

Did you ever play the third one? I never did, and I don't even think I knew it existed until I looked it up earlier today.

Yeah I have it. It definitely wasn't as good as the Bungie installments but it was still very good. It had a new engine but felt very similar to the other ones gameplay-wise, and the story was very well done (it was a prequel dealing with Connacht)

I've actually only played through it one time (I've probably played through the first one 10-15 times, and the second 100+ counting online co-operative play) so I don't really remember much specific about the campaign. Guess I'll just have to set aside a week at some point to do the whole trilogy again Very Happy

A friend of mine used to play Myth 2 obsessively and swore by it being one of the greatest games ever. He was always modding levels in it and telling tales of launching characters miles away using powerfully tweaked grenades or something. Wasn't really my thing when I tried it.

You really love the Super NES; your top 8 games are all for that :3

Doom 64 is one game I considered putting on my list, but I've only played about 10-15 levels into the game, so I felt like I should play it a little more thoroughly before considering it for such a list.

The SNES was the peak of gaming as far as I'm concerned. There's still games I'm discovering for it that blow my mind.

Currently playing through Illusion of Gaia although very slowly. I like these Quintet action RPGs and am looking forward to playing Terranigma and The Granstream Saga eventually, since they're all kind of considered "the Soul Blazer series" despite none of them having any story ties.
