| These albums have a really bad reputation, but I honestly think they contain some of the best stuff Metallica has ever written. However, the main problem with these records is that they're way too fucking long. They pretty much put out every single song they could come up with, resulting in a really inconsistent tone. I'm not even talking about quality; even if every single song on Load and Reload were good, they just don't sound like they belong on the same record. I have a lot of free time in the Summer, so I get bored a lot. I thought I'd solve both of these problems by combining Load and Reload into one album, deleting the tracks that don't make sense (or just aren't good enough). What resulted is a pretty weird little art rock album that I'm calling "Unload" because I'm a fucking douche bag. I've listened to this "new album" a couple of times and I think it works really well. Check it out, if you're curious. Here's the tracklist: 1. Where The Wild Things Are2. Devil's Dance3. The Memory Remains4. Low Man's Lyric5. Until it Sleeps6. Bleeding Me7. Wasting My Hate8. Hero of the Day 9. Mama Said10. The Outlaw Tornmediafire.com ?71vb2f4o0xtvp88 |

| Gaston/Warren swore by one or both of these being the greatest Metallica album(s) ever, I believe.
That is my contribution to this thread. |

| I don't like long albums, so neither could be the best Metallica albums to me, but I still argue that The Outlaw Torn is the best song they've ever done. |

| It was Chad that always said Load was their best, I believe.
Agreed on Outlaw Torn though. |

| As I said in that other Metallica thread Load is ok. ReLoad is awful.
And I agree if they took all the good songs from Load and ReLoad and put them on one album, it would be a good album. :p
No Fuel ,Ain't My Bitch or King Nothing though. WTF? |

| Some of my omissions weren't based on song quality. I like King Nothing and Ain't My Bitch a lot, but they don't make sense on this "new album". |

| All those songs from Reload you have are shit. Not surprising, all the songs on there are shit. Other than Fixxer. That song rules. The Memory Remains is only good live because that french cunt htey have singing the chorus makes the song sound like a joke.
Load is their best album though, so you didn't need to do this. All you had to do was put Fixxxer on Load and get rid of the Cure and Ronnie. Actually the Thorn Within kind of sucks too so you can ditch that as well. |

| I don't think you're getting the point. I wasn't trying to make an album of the best songs. i was trying to make an album of songs that flowed and felt like they all fit together. Load doesn't have that, despite most of the songs being great individually. |

| Going from a bunch of shitty songs to good tracks from Load is not a good flow. Actually I don't really think flow is a problem on Load (other than a couple songs sticking out because of how shitty they are). Then again I don't think you and I see eye to eye when it comes to flow given you said early Alice in Chains albums just sound like a bunch of songs thrown together. |

| I tried listening to some songs from either Load or Reload on Youtube once, and they were boring so I stopped them early. I think Fuel is decent though. |
