Graveyard and SubRosa are pretty much all I cared about.

can find some good albums through this. I'd say check out the Corrupted album

AND UneXpect. I'm pretty sure you're into them or at least into their style? I really enjoyed their newest album. Improvement over their previous for sure

Ha you called me out now I try not to disappoint. Tongue
Anyhow, I've got a lot of stuff I've gone through. I think I've listened to most of it but some stuff I'm still trying to get settled into.
Anyway here's everything I've deemed good you might not neccisarily enjoy all of it but I'll try.

A$AP Rocky - LiveLoveA$AP
I really got addicted to this album recently. Generally I'm not a fan of this kind of subject matter in rap but the guy is so good I didn't mind really.
Samples:

Mixtape Download: http://www.livemixtapes.com/mixtapes/15168/asap_rocky_liveloveaap.html

Astronautalis - This is Our Science
I only got to listen to this once but I liked it enough to put it here. It's interesting. I'd like to get back to it sometime. :p

Bad Meets Evil - Hell: The Sequel
I think I posted this here, anyway it was enjoyable though lost a lot of steam once Watch the Throne came out.
Big K.R.I.T. - ReturnOf4Eva
Another great mixtape. It's so good I'd probably go out and buy it if they released the same album in stores. Tongue

Mixtape Download: http://www.livemixtapes.com/mixtapes/13537/big_krit_returnof4eva.html
J Cole - Cole World: The Sideline Story
A solid album though I did like his mixtapes more than this (I'd recommend checking those out too)

CunninLynguists - Oneirology
This was one of my favorites for the majority of the year. Could be my favorite album of theirs now.

Dessa - Castor, the Twin
I wanted to make a thread for this album but never got around to it. You probably wouldn't have read it anyway if I did. Anyway, I know you like her and this album is kind of like a remix album. Not really a remix but all the songs are rearranged so the same songs you like from her previous albums but with different insturmentals.

ElZhi - Elmatic
This is just like if elZhi did songs to Nas' Illmatic. Different/samish but good.

Jay-Z & Kanye West - Watch the Throne
Pretty awesome I thought.

Kendrick Lamar - Section.80
Took a while to get into this, well not really. It's really good.

Frank Ocean - Nostalgia, ULTRA.
This is more R&B than anything but still good. One of my favorites of the year. Another mixtape.

Mixtape download: http://indy.livemixtapes.com/mixtapes/13461/frank_ocean_nostalgia_ultra.html

Pusha T - Fear of God / Fear of God II: Let Us Pray
One is a mixtape the other is the album he dropped. Both share some songs. Worth checking out. Closest thing we have to a new Clipse album this (last) year.

The Roots - undun
Pretty great album. I like it more than the album the released last year. It's a concept album though even if you don't know that you should be able to enjoy it.

The Weeknd - House of Balloons
I give this a marginal recommendation. He released 3 mixtapes, it might be your thing, it might not.
http://the-weeknd.com

Need to revisit: Freddie Gibbs - Cold Day in Hell, Shabazz Palaces - Black Up, Saigon - The Greatest Story Never Told
I'm putting these here because they are supposed to be good but I haven't spent that much time listening to them.

Non Rap: Blood Ceremony - Living with the Ancients, The Chemical Brothers - Hanna soundtrack, Cultura Tres - No es mi Verdad http://culturatres.bandcamp.com/album/el-mal-del-bien, Graveyard - Hisingen Blues, Septic Flesh - The Great Mass, Taake - Noregs Vaapen, Ulver - Wars of the Roses, Yob - Atma

New Tom Waits eh? I'll have to grab that. I wasn't huge on his last one, but I'm sure I'll find something to enjoy in it.

It's not as broad spectrum as orphans, which is natural since this is all newly written material. More like a sequel to real gone. It's also way better than real gone. It's a bit more traditonal, 80s Waits. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

There's a new Polkadot Cadaver. You're still into them, right?

I'm not much of a Tom Waits fan but I dug his new one about as much as anything else I've ever heard from him. I surprised myself there.

A new Giant Squid came out, called "Cenote" or something. I haven't heard it.

Can't think of anything else I know from last year that you wouldn't hate.

Tom Waits is kind of an "I think he's pretty cool" artist but whose music isn't really anything I can listen to and enjoy save for on a few occasions. Doubt I'd ever buy an album.

Do you forget how to read when you see that I make a post?

Except for a couple video-less things in your Non-Rap section you posted utter tripe though. Tom Waits' record was at least pretty decent. Oh yeah and I share with Abs pretty much the exact same opinion for Waits. It's funny though: I seem to love tons of artists that claim Waits as a major influence despite not caring much for the man himself.

So I finally got around to checking a bucnh of this shit out. By far, that Astronautalis album is the best thing posted here (I assume, I haven't checked out all of it yet, but considering it's the best album I've heard for at least 2 years I doubt anything beats it out). Thanks for the rec blug, hopefully you've had a chance to listen to it some more.

Listening to it again right now. I already enjoyed it a lot but hadn't listened to it much.

Yeah I didn't listen to from when I posted it to until you told me to today. Tongue

Did you hear Pharahe Monch's album from last year Blug? I was listening to it today, I thought it was pretty solid. I didn't find it was as good as Desire though. Mind you, I kind of thought it suffered from the same problem as Desire - I thought it started off really strong but ended kind of weak - only in reverse, so it started slow but ended really well. Either way, I still thought it was pretty good.

You should listen to Pharoahe Monch, he's pretty good. He even sampled King Crimson on his last album

I'm pretty sure I have. A guy I used to work with(that is actually the guy I've worked on rap songs with) let me hear lots of stuff. I'm pretty sure he let me hear Killer Mike and Pharoah Monch. Seeing how I live across the country now, we don't hang out much anymore. He also let me hear stuff like Graph and Z-Ro. Those two were his favorites. And as I recall, Graph has some pretty decent stuff.
