We should make a list of bands that have had pretty long streaks of good albums or just label the time period to pay attention to from a band.. Like Melvins as a whole wouldn't fit in something like this, but there are definitely a few instances where they put out good album after good album. 3 albums in a row is the minimum for the list or time frame.

Melvins from 91-96 (not including Prick, according to wiki it was used to finance Stoner Witch so I think something like this should be allowed)
Converge '96 and on.. Halo In a Haystack is okay for it's style, but everything after that is gold
Wolves In the Throne Room from first full length and on- I actually really enjoyed their EP and Black Cascade.
Genghis Tron's true releases, no demos, no remixes, just Cloak of Love, Dead Mountain Mouth, and Board Up The House
Kyuss 92 and on
My Bloody Valentine 88-91
Slowdive

I'll add more later, but just wanted to get this started.

For me:
Tom Waits - 1973-2011, and he still fucking destroys. The fact that Mule Variations and Real Gone are his worst albums is a testament to how insanely awesome that guy is.

Iron Maiden - First eight albums are all varying degrees of awesome. Out of their entire 15 album discography, only No Prayer For The Dying and Virtual XI are genuinely bad albums.

Opeth - They've never made a bad album. They've made good albums and great albums.

Wolves In the Throne Room - I love everything they've done.

This is a really bad idea for a thread. And I would know. I make the worst threads there are.

It's not a bad idea for a thread. It's just the fact that there was already a thread like this on IGN like a week ago.

The reason you are a bad user is because you're unoriginal and when something new comes along you latch onto it and ride it's coattails long after everyone stopped giving a fuck.

And technically, those are the final 2 with Ozzy, so you could just say the first 6.

Death..haven't heard Leprosy or Spiritual Healing, but Death's final 4 albums are all incredible
Godflesh
Godspeed You!
Gojira's full lengths
Meshuggah from '94 on

Both those albums are good. TE is kind of lame in some areas, but Dirty Women more than makes up for it. Never Say Die might actually be my favourite Sabbath album. I wish they'd continued with the jazz influence just to see what they would have done. Shit would have been tight.

Maybe I should give 'em another chance, but I remember when I first listened to those albums, the sounds hitting my ears were the equivalent of dudes slow-blowing each other to smooth jazz.
