Still wanting to try and put weight off. Starting some new things on top of things I said before. Anyway, I'd like to start running but I was thinking I'd probably need some decent music for things like that. I can walk or do exercises in my room listening to shit like Dark Castle... but I think the music I normally listen to really isn't suited for more fast paced stuff like jogging or running.

Any suggestions? Any genre is alright, I suppose. Tried out an Only Living Witness song today and that was alright.

Forteresse - Metal Noire Quebeccois

Easily the best music I've found to run to. It's consistently fast but not too fast, and it just has a driving drum beat throughout the entire album. When I run or jog to this album, it's like night and day compared to most other music. Oh, and don't mind the brief folk intros here and there that the album has, they provide a nice break.

Well, yeah... I want stuff I can enjoy. But I also want something that gets me pumped up or in the mood to do it. Slow moving doom just doesn't do it.

Well that's your prerogative. It doesn't work for you but works for me.

Whatever music you like that gets you pumped up I guess is the music you personally should listen to. Slipknot? *shrugs*

I like running to Ensiferum, Death, and Amon Amarth. They really get the pace up quick lol.

I remember when I started running, I would always put this track first in my playlist:

Great for getting started. Starts nice and slow, steady rhythm. Then you can increase the intensity once the drums kick in proper.

I also listened a lot to Autopsy's Severed Survival for some reason. For pure energy it's pretty great.

Also, if this track doesn't get those feet moving, nothing will:

Fuck yeah, Estradasphere. It has been a while since I have listened to them. They put on a great live show.

Anyways, this is turning again into one of those lame threads where someone asks for something and never actually comments on the serious suggestions. I've got other shit to suggest, but I'm not going to bother to until you say what you do and/or do not like about the other ones.

Hey guy, I'm new to the jogging/running. I've tried Electro's suggestion and listened to some White Zombie, The Sword, and Iced Earth on my own. I can't really comment on things until I get the chance to actually jog with them. Tongue It's coming. But yeah, like I said. I'm new. So like 10-15 minutes is my limit for a day of jogging. I'm a big guy. Got to work myself into this.

Sure I could listen to some of this stuff and just do stuff like lifting weights or whatever, but I was actually trying to find specifically for jogging so I have to wait until I get the chance to try it with that.

I just heard some things in my own library (already having it makes it easier) that I thought might work well so I tried those first.

BUT TO COMMENT ON SOMETHING. The beginning of Electro's worked well... but didn't really dig it with the song as a whole. The riffs towards the beginning were kind of energetic... but I don't know. The song just didn't seem to hold the energy well for me. Sure it had fast up tempo parts... but I dunno. I guess me not really being too big on death metal anymore could be the reason.

What I am liking is the groovy stuff. White Zombie and The Sword were pretty awesome for making want to keep up the pace. Iced Earth was okay with it's fast and thrashy riffs.
