I'll post my collection/backlog...its gonna essentially be the same list though. We have a lot of the same games. I'm starting to become more of a collector of harder to find games (which I'm still interested in). I just picked up Infinite Space which was a bitch to track down for a reasonable price and also Hyperdimension Neptunia which I hear is a less than stellar jrpg, but it has a pretty good sense of humor and was discontinued almost immediately. Managed to get a copy today for 40 bucks (used) and on amazon the lowest used copies are going for is 67+shipping. Also found 9 hours, 9 persons, 9 doors at gamestop brand new (still packaged) for 20 (25 + on amazon).

pretty fuckin good if i do say so myself. Still want to track down a few other RPGs such as disgaea 2, trinity universe, tactics ogre, radiant historia, persona 1 and persona 3 portable already have P2 Innocent Sin on pre-order ..not risking this shit ever again like I did with p1 and p3. and I may be ordering Catherine deluxe edition for ps3 on amazon tonight since it's 10 bucks off and I know they arent making anymore of those..

Yeah, I'm the same way. I feel this overwhelming urge to buy Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner and Devil Summoner 2, not because I'd ever get to playing them, but because they're rare

And 999 is probably going to be a purchase in the near future. Been reading up a lot on that one recently

I picked up Devil Summoner 2 with the Raido plushie for 20 bucks at gamestop. Heard about it through cheapassgamer.com if you haven't heard of that site. still unopened, but I do want to play the game..it's just so cool as a collectible though too. glyde.com has DS 1 on ps2, but its not new and its still close to the 50 dollar price tag. If you want it that badly I'd get it through there

Holy shit, my backlog of unplayed and unbeaten games is ridiculous. Maybe one day I'll embarrass myself into posting the list.

the time you'd spend compiling and posting the list you could probably beat one or two of 'em lol.

I would have a huge backlog, probably the size of what's in the OP, but I don't think it'd be a valid one since it'd be compiled of games that I sold and don't have anymore lol.

Those games had various parts that were frustrating for me. I had a lot of fun with them though. Wasn't able to beat em either

I created a profile on backloggery. It's in my sig.

Ugh... I've been playing Ninja Gaiden on NES. I sat for like an hour or two trying to play through it last night. Had a good time, got to the last sub level. Played it for about 20 minutes this morning before school, everything stuck and I made it to where I got last night. Died on the last sublevel. Went to school. Came home, decided to play Ninja Gaiden again... God fucking damn Stage 6. That fucking level. Fuck it.

The worst is when you have to give up on the final boss. Going by memory, that happened to me with:

Scurge (DS) - I obliterated the game case/cartridge after dying for like 20th time
Tsugunai (PS2) - Slow as fuck combat, multiple final boss forms, long ass intro cinema. I probably could of level-grinded my way to a win, but that game sucked so it wouldn't of been worth it
.hack 1st game (PS2) - game sucked, called it quits after the douche Jester thing killed me like 5 straight times
Code Veronica (PS2) - left all my good gear on one character, so I was stuck fighting the final boss with like 2 shitty guns.
Odin Sphere (PS2) - I think the final levels were just a string of tough ass bosses. I couldn't even beat the first one. Fuck that game
Doom 64 - undodgeable shit galore

Now that I think of it, I didn't include a lot of games up above that I half/mostly beat. I don't even think I got past Viewtiful Joe's first level before shelving it

If I recall correctly, the Doom 64 boss is actually really easy to beat. I forget what the strategy is, though. Haven't really played that game since I was in like middle school.

Yeah, that's possible. This was back in middle school with limited access to dial-up internet. I could never beat the Doom 2 boss back in the day either, and then I got it on XBLA and found out you just need to hit it with one rocket (in a specific way)

I've never beaten Doom 2 without the clipping cheats. It's pretty much you've got to get that shot perfect the first time. By the time you miss, that level is filled with stuff that will just tear your ass up.

I am considering buying Code Veronica HD. It's a pretty good RE game, but you can definitely fuck yourself over like that. Just ordered Odin Sphere the other day actually because of amazon's buy one get one half off and then had Parasite Eve 3rd Birthday as the discounted game. I had all 4 .hack games since I was into the anime at the time...wish I kept some of em since I believe some of the entries are rare..but yeah the game sucked hard. I recently looked into that Tsugunai game coincidentally and it seemed interesting based on the story. Didn't look into the gameplay at all.

I didn't even notice you mention Scurge... I've seen people say that it's very similar to Metroid and is basically Metroid from a different viewpoint... How true is that?

Tsugunai was decent at the time, which is saying something because it was one of the first PS2 games I bought. But it is slooooooooooooooooooooooooow

Odin Sphere is a fun game, but good luck ever beating it. The game basically says "oh, you need to level-grind in order to stand a chance against the bosses? Well fuck you, we're going to make it as convoluted and strung out as possible to do that"

Like how hard of a game would you say Odin Sphere is? IMO SMT 3 is pretty difficult

I'm stuck at the first battle against Dante in SMT 3 :l
I will get past him eventually. I never had a problem with Matador like everyone else did for some reason...cept the first time I fought him I was completely unprepared and didn't know he was coming up..of course my shit was slapped hard.

SMT SJ seems to be getting progressively more difficult, but it's never been unfair. I stopped playing as I somehow have started shifting from good to neutral (and I want to get it back to good somehow) so I'm not really able to do my special attacks with the rest of my party which is making things much harder

I would take your time going through it grinding your characters if you want the endgame to be remotely do-able, I'll put it that way

I didn't have much trouble with that one. I think I had one of the cards that you could turn into 99 items that gave everyone unlimited limit breaks and another that turned into 99 megaexlixers, and just did that over and over again
