I was watching the movie ERASER with Arnold Schwazenagger or however you spell his name and Vanessa Williams which was hilariously bad and I thought it was ERASERHEAD.

True story.

So far I am enjoying season 2 much more than season 1. The creepy/eerie atmosphere through most of it is kind of chilling, and the weird drifts off into extraordinary subjects is intriguing.

I can't remember it too well, but I think I felt pretty indifferent to it at the time.

Oh man. OH MAN. This show rocks my dingus so hard. Just watched the series finale. Loved it. LOVED IT. Kurt, you're a fuxing f49907 for thinking Deadly Premonition ends better. That game still rocks, though, and certainly breaks free of the Twin Peaks similarities toward the end...sorta. But it's no Twin Peaks. IT'S NO TWIN PEAKS, YA HEAR ME, GAYWAD?

If/when this gets released on Blu-ray, I'm snatching it up right away.

There goes Ab, calling anyone he disagrees with a f49907.

I prefer Deadly Premonition because I like York's particular brand of craziness more than Cooper's, and I think the story as a whole is more satisfying in Deadly Premonition. I agree though that the second season is underrated. I think part of why people hate the second season (or at least the second part of it) is because they solve the murder, so because of that people stopped watching, apparently. Which I think is stupid; I would have gotten sick of the show if they just kept leaving the identity of Laura's killer up in the air, just like with the X-Files. I got sick of that during Season 3 because they never fucking made any goddamn progress at all, so I got tired of it. I'm glad that Twin Peaks didn't go down that route, but apparently most people disagree. elephant

It's only the best thing to ever have been shown on television.

D:

Though I'm starting to develop an intense fascination with the original Twilight Zone.

Gotta watch Twin Teats: Fire Walk with Me soon. And all the Log Lady introductions to the episodes on my DVDs. And the European pilot.

I know I'm kinda late to the game, but I started Twin Peaks today. On episode 4, but I like it so far.

I remember my mom liked this show when I was little, so between that and how y'all have praised it, I figured I'd give it a go.

:O

Kurt should be watching this. Deadly Premonition is basically Twin Peaks: The Video Game.

Yeah, I had never watched Twin Peaks before (in the middle of season 2 now), and I knew DP was inspired by it, but it's almost qualifies as plagiarism. The characters (especially Cooper/whats-his-name), the music, parts of the plot, the setting, a lot of the set pieces, etc., all virtually identical.

Deadly Premonition definitely takes a strange twist toward the end, though. But yeah, overall, the game's setting, story, characters, and overall presentation are basically ripped off from the show, lol. It goes beyond homage. I still love it, though.

Even Agent York talking to Zach reminds me of Agent Cooper talking to Diane on the tape recorder.

Check out Alan Wake for a game that doesn't completely copy Twin Peaks. Tongue

Why isn't season 2 split into different seasons?

I'd think where Leland dies and Bob gets free would be where the season should end. And where I thought it ended, boy was I surprised to see 10+ more episodes to go.
