The bands that I'm really digging are:

Clair Cassis
Deafheaven
Heretoir
Hypomanie
Sleeping Peonies
Weakling
Wolves In The Throne Room

Really hoping for some more blackgaze/atmospheric stuff.

I actually favorited a Deep Mountains song the other day on youtube to go back to. Tongue

Haven't listened to Deathspell Omega in a while, I'll give them another go. Any particular albums?

They're a lot more experimental, not as atmospheric, but still do longer compositions and shit. I think Fas was the one that I really liked.

I was being serious, but I just skimmed through Fas and it's not what I remember it being. I thought it was way dronier than it is.

You should still listen to it anyway.

While I'm here, Loxx you should check out Urfe by The Axis of Perdition. It's just a dark ambient album, but it's pretty good if you can get into it. All it is is some guy narrating this really bizarre story about some guy named Urfe to some dark ambient shit in the background. It's pretty boring if you're just sitting there listening, but if you actually sit down and listen to the story it's pretty good. Worth a listen anyway.

WITTR are by no means drone, but they definitely have some droney bits and are influenced by it. Dea Artio is one really obvious example.

As long as I can actually find some stuff to download and listen to, either is fine.

Alda ("cascadian" black metal) -it's basically WITTR cept not.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iOVjAM8VQM&feature=related

You are gonna want the self titled, not the demo.

and I'm not sure if you've heard of them but I think they are fairly well known in the bm scene, but I recommend listening to some An Autumn For Crippled Children

Alright. Had a chance to finally go through some of this stuff. My favorites were Alda and Svarti Loghin. Haven't had the chance to hear Srodek yet. Myspace does nothing but freeze my browser... couldn't find anything on youtube. Going to see if I can find a download somewhere now.

But yeah... Alda and Svarti Loghin were great. Others were good but those were my favorites. Got any more recs, guys? I'm on spring break now so I've got plenty of time to get to things.

So yeah... I can't find anything from Srodek. I even went to a site where I was supposed to be able to buy the damn thing and it wasn't even listed. Any help on that one, Ancient?

Cold Body Radiation is interesting... kind of like black metal, screamo, and shoegaze? I like this song.

I went over your last.fm page and this thread again. For Deathspell Omega...I'd maybe recommend Kenose. Si monvmentvm is cool, but it's a really long album. Kenose is an EP, but still 30 minutes. Or get their album/song Chaining the Katechon (sp?). Paracletus is imo their best work, but I'm sure everyone has jizzed over that album too many times to count on many metal boards. Coldworld is pretty cool if you are into any depressive bm (still is atmospheric I believe), Cobalt is a very interesting band if you haven't ever checked em out. Celeste. Blut Aus Nord. I'm not sure what else to recommend. I'm sure you have at least heard OF these bands
