It's almost October. That makes watching horror movies a must—one or more a day/night if manageable. Well, it's technically September 28th in the very early morning, but I think I'll start my horror marathon early.

I guess I'll use this thread to post about the awesome movies I see.

My picks for tonight are At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul and The Beyond. I'll start with the former (and eventually get to seeing the excellent sequels, This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse and Embodiment of Evil) and afterward see if I'm up for the latter or if I'll be too tired, ha.

Watch horror movies. Post about them. Post trailers.

Never seen At Midnight..., and haven't watched The Beyond since I was 18. I still have the once-highly-sought-after Anchor Bay tin lol, maybe I should dust it off.

The DVDTalk forums have people who are also enthusiastic about this, and go so far as to make it a yearly contest. If I remember correctly, the "winners" are consistently people who claim to watch like 100+ horror movies within the month of October.

That's a bit insane. I doubt I'll watch more than one or two a night, and there will likely be nights where I don't watch any.

I kinda tried doing a horror film marathon this year, but after watching all the semi-shitty Halloween sequels, I got a bit tired out and stopped caring. But here are all the ones I've watched this October, IN ORDER:

1. Halloween (1978) [Blu-ray]
2. Halloween II (1981)
3. Basket Case [Blu-ray]
4. Halloween III: Season of the Witch
5. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
6. The Prowler [Blu-ray]
7. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
8. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers
9. Halloween H20: 20 Years Later
10. Halloween Resurrection

from there I stopped keeping track/posting about it on Facebook and Twitter, but I think it's been:

11. Frankenhooker [Blu-ray]
12. At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul
13. The Dorm That Dripped Blood [Blu-ray]
14. Pieces
15. This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse (twice, since I was really sleepy the first time)

and tonight I'm hoping to finish off the Coffin Joe trilogy with Embodiment of Evil if my friend comes over (and I think Awakening of the Beast was considered the third movie for a long time, and it's in a coffin-shaped DVD box I have called The Coffin Joe Trilogy, so I'll likely watch that soon also). The first two are bonerfied classics, but I've only seen the third film once, SO I'M INTERESTED TO FIND OUT WHAT I THINK OF IT THIS TIME. I just picked up the US Blu-ray for it, which kicks the shit out of the UK one I bought previously.

16. Embodiment of Evil [Blu-ray]

"Kick-ass, you guys."

Liked it even more than the first time through, picked up on some nuances I missed, and the US Blu-ray pisses all over the UK one.

17. Night of the Demons (1988)
18. Return of the Living Dead

Both awesome. Love 'em. Hilarious. "Eat a bowl of fuck!"

I missed the original Fright Night. I think that was #12. Great movie; gonna be all over the Blu-ray when it's available for pre-order mid November. (Limited to 3,000 copies, yo.)
