Forgot Whitechapel's This Is Exile. Have you gotten around to checking out Bermuda Lox? Mightn't be your thing but since you've taken a liking to Thy Art Is Murder it can't hurt to take a look at them.

Through the Eyes of the Dead - Bloodlust

Have you suggested them already? If you had, I'd completely forgotten. I'll go listen to them.

www.myspace.com/bermdahh

I think I've mentioned them somewhere before. The track "Asphyxiate" is the best one they have on their myspace.

Whats Fused Together in Revolving Doors and Clients like 9mm? I only own Prey For Eyes and I think that its one kick arse album. I've been wanting to get the rest of their albums for awhile now actually.

Well Fused... in comparison to the latter stuff is a monster, in terms of sheer intensity. If you compared Fused... to their newest Prey For Eyes you'd defintely see a distinctive difference in a number of areas. Clients I'd say is sort of the begininng of the musical change or what one could call a bride in the band's overall musical evolution. I'd say overall the newer stuff for me defintely took more time to digest do to all the tempo changes, sounds, concepts and all they fit in to their latter material. I think the band has improved musicmanship wise, but I still don't think any of what they have done has beat the more simplistic beauty that was Fused.... The newer Red Chord, as opposed to an old one, aims less for raw brutality or staightforwardness and more on the tehnical aspects of their styles, in a matter of speaking. The vocal style has changed over time as well. On the first album the vocal style was moreso filled with distinctive higher pitched screams, but on Clients it seems like a more deeper vocal style, that could be compared to Barney from Napalm Death, which tends to add a bit more of a hardcore feel as well to their subsequent music. Prey For Eyes really as far as I'm able, to tell from my limited experiences (my lack of experience with it is the only reason I left it off my list) has a large range of influences that range from jazz, hardcore, and in particular instances grind. Someone once described to me, what they have been doing in the album in particular instances as Atheist meets Agnostic Front on a cocaince high, or something humorous like that. You though defintely see a more distinctive classic hardcoreish influence with the changed vocal style in the latter stuff and see some jazzy overtones in terms of structure. The first album in comparison to the newer two is quite different, you might be a little suprised by it. Clients in ways, is similar or shares base stylistic roots with Prey For Eyes, but both are their own albums and experiment in different ways., with their sound. Tempo changes, riff structure, etc. I'd say Clients has a tendency to be more 'crazy' and less controlled than Prey For Eyes, which is more of an organized chaos, in comparison to the more genuine chaos Clients was, if this is making any sense at all. lol

By the sound of things I think I'd enjoy their earlier material. The Red Chord seem like the kinda band that has a great catalogue of albums that are all worth listening to. I hate when bands start to change their musical direction but it doesn't quite work out for them.

Speaking of changing musical direction... I still haven't listened to the new AFI cd.
