I was looking through old threads and came across this again. Since this thread was posted, I've gotten my own copy of Super Metroid on the Super NES and played that. I think it's pretty neat; it's definitely my favorite Metroid game I've played, but it's still not one of my favorite games in general.

What do you guys think about that? Basketball

What do we think about you finding your copy of super metroid?

I have this game, but I just can't get into Metroid Prime. Pretty much only bought it due to the quickly increasing value. The combat isn't any fun for me and the environment is pretty boring. Respawning enemies galore. Maybe it is a fun game for people who grew up and enjoyed metroid? I had Metroid II on the gameboy when I was a kid and it frustrated me to no end.

About my not thinking it's the greatest game ever.

Metroid II is one of my favorites in the series. LOVE it.

I got stuck very early on. Didn't have internet at the time. Didn't enjoy the game enough to ask my mom for a strategy guide. It wasn't a game meant for people my age. I swear there wasn't even a map in the game.

Are you talking about Metroid Prime? There is a map in it.

Oh, ok. Yeah, I wish more old maze games had maps.

I did get through all of Blaster Master however, despite it having no in-game map. I went through the trouble of making my own maps of every sidescrolling section in the game on graph paper, so I now have most of the game memorized. I don't know if I'll ever do that again though Tongue Unfortunately for the early Metroids...

Metroid II can be confusing at first. After having beaten the game with a map, I can make my way through most of the game without the aid of a map.
