Like a fag, I got all excited when FUNimation had FINALLY announced they'd be selling "season sets" of the show, fully uncut with the Japanese audio intact (all the original music and such). Then they go and botch it up, not only by cropping the 4:3 image to create a cramped, faux-widescreen transfer, but they botch the video even MORE by boosting the contrast levels, causing detail to be lost and colors to look too bright and faded, in addition to applying a very liberal dose of DVNR, eliminating lines of animation and detail along the way.
That's how NOT to do a video transfer of animation, folks.
Hopefully with their upcoming Dragon Ball sets, they won't do the same crappiness. I hear they're 4:3, so that's a start. Maybe they'll also reissue all the DBZ sets with proper video this time around. THEN I'll buy them, and only then.
