Seems they're following the trend of other popular deathcore bands. You know, by actually trying something different and being better because of it. Job For A Cowboy (while still a laughing stock to some) progressed and became a death metal band on their last release, Genesis. Some gave them kudos for the effort and even enjoyed the album. Bring Me The Horizon wasn't far behind in ditching their well known deathcore sound for something a bit more... metalcore and emo influenced. It was a nice, and better, change for the band. And now, Suicide Silence begins their baby steps into change. No Time To Bleed is still deathcore... but it's a step up from what they've been putting out. I decided to give a few tracks a listen on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. What was once a band I couldn't stand to listen to a full track from, is now an enjoyable experience. Deathcore haters won't find reason to like the genre or the band here... but those who are willing to give a core band a chance may be pleasantly surprised just as I was. I already ordered my own copy of the cd.

I found No Time To Bleed to be okay. Its different but some songs just don't seem to do it for me. I prefer The Cleansing over No Time To Bleed. The Cleansing has more tracks that stand out on it.

Suicide Season is good but there are only 3 songs on it I care to listen to again and again. Count Your Blessings has more tracks on it that I'll listen to several times over. Its not that their latest attempts are bad but I just find that the tracks just aren't as enjoyable as their previous works.

I downloaded Suicide Silence's entire discography and I'm giving it a listen now... so I'll have a better opinion of them later.

I don't have their E.P. I've been looking for it but it looks like I'll have to order it later. No Time To Bleed is good but it'll take time before it grows on me. My expectations for the album was that it'd be a heavier, faster and more technical version of The Cleansing. I didn't think that they'd attempt to try something new.

Like I mentioned in the first post, it seems all the popular acts are moving on. Maybe they're aware that they're looked down upon and are tired of it? Seemed to be BMTH's motivation.

Being looked down upon by some shouldn't really bother a band. If they choose to try and evolve because they want to try something new thats all well and good but changing your style because people don't like your bands sound is rather stupid in my opinion.

No one took them seriously. And that really gets to bands. A musician wants to be taken seriously. They don't care if someone hates their music... just don't make a mockery of it.

I don't see why so many people hate deathcore bands. There are good and bad bands in every genre. I would rank deathcore as one of my most preferred genres.

WTF!? There was Peter from Family Guy laughing at the beginning of this track. "Distorted Thought of Addiction"

Well, it has to do with the scene mostly, I think. At first I didn't get it either. But then I heard the shit bands like Annotations of an Autopsy. Suicide Silence, Job For A Cowboy, Bring Me The Horizon, etc are a god send compared to the shit that litters that genre. It does have it's gems. Hell, I listen to Suffokate tons. It's just that it's a predominantly shit genre. It's filled with kids who grew up listening to emo who now think they're bad ass and grown-ups playing "death metal". I know it seems like a generalization... but it seems like it is mostly the case. You can tell the real talents from the dumbass kids, though. Even if you don't like their music. I never would have lumped Suicide Silence or Impending Doom in that camp even though I hate the music. They're obviously fans of death metal trying to do their thing.

You know how it is, though. This is the internet so we can be cool and talk shit about everything simply because of one label.

I know what you mean. It just stupid that people instantly hate a band as soon as they know that they're deathcore before giving them a chance. I used to hate death metal but I'd give any death metal band a chance before saying I didn't like them.

I try not to bag on entire genres. You can always find at least one artist or group you like.

I was sitting here listening to Suicide Silence on iTunes with my headphones on. I was thinking. "Whoa, this is pretty sweet. What is this?" Checked it out... No Time To Bleed. Yeah, this cd is a keeper. Tongue Can't wait til I get it in. The artwork looks nice.

I was surprised I actually went out and bought it the other day. I normally don't bother going out to get albums as soon as they come out.
