Stalin was the leader of the country. haha, but when it comes to generals I can't remember even when I just had this a couple of months ago in American Histroy II.

why would you be studying russia in american history?

...I know that, it just seems odd you'd be studying that in depth with Russia when you're in an American history class (especially when America had no conflict witht he USSR during ww2)
